An accomplished engineer, Manjit Guleria is a gas station and retail entrepreneur whose experience stretches back over two decades. Since 1998, he has served as president of Guleria Enterprises, which runs a chain of gasoline stations, car washes, and convenience stores. Over the years, Manjit Guleria has successfully managed his retail businesses.

Successfully managing a retail business requires a lot of meticulous planning, dedication, and proper groundwork research. Sufficient planning in advance has seen numerous retail brands excel in their operations. Retailers who observe certain practices and habits are more geared towards successful business enterprises.

Retailers are often busy considering they handle multiple tasks, including ordering inventory, market trends research, staff training, and merchandising displays. For this reason, retail managers understand the value of scheduling to determine what they need to do and what they shouldn’t. Scheduling time limits and deadlines helps retailers to remain focused and attend to issues at the right time to avoid unnecessary wastage of time.

Even though good practices have brought results before, successful retailers don’t fear experimenting and testing new ideas. Retailers regularly spare time to evaluate their actions and are always open to feedback and change. In addition, good practices should always be measured, analyzed, and results put into perspective.

Guru Nanak - Father of Sikhism

Following a decade as a principal engineer, Manjit Guleria founded a leading gasoline wholesale business operating in New Jersey. Manjit Guleria is also involved in local civic and religious organizations. He is a former member of the Affordable Housing Committee of the New Jersey township of Hopewell, and also served as president of the Sikh Sabha of New Jersey, a role in which he helped raise funds that financed capital projects and education programs to teach the tenets and history of Sikhism.

Sikhism is a monotheistic religion that originated in Northern India. It was founded by the spiritual leader Guru Nanak, who was born in 1469 in what is now Pakistan. He was born to a wealthy family and worked as a shopkeeper until he had a religious experience at the age of 30. After this awakening, Guru Nanak traveled across India and many parts of the world to share his spiritual insights.

He verbalized his spiritual teachings through numerous poems, which are compiled in the Sikh holy book, the Guru Granth Sahib. Guru Nanak preached against social divides, such as the caste system and women inequality. He also, emphasized the importance of earning a living through honest work, sharing your resources with others and daily meditating on the divine. Before his death in 1538, Guru Nanak appointed a successor. This tradition continued until the early 1700s, when the then Guru Gobind Singh passed on the duties of educating future Sikhs to the text of the Guru Granth Sahib. Today, there are more than 24 million Sikhs worldwide and more than 250 temples in the United States.

Power Electronics Explained

A retail gasoline leader in west central New Jersey, Manjit Guleria operates a network of locations as the president of Upbeat Enterprises in Maple Shade and Guleria Enterprises in Pennington. Manjit Guleria formerly worked as an electrical engineer who taught and worked widely in the field of power electronics.

Briefly defined, power electronics covers all issues related to the application of solid-state electronics to transform and control power flow. In addition to converting electrical power into various forms, power electronics engineers manage energy flow from source to load, with a focus on reliability and efficiency. Key to this discipline are power electronic circuits, which employ power semiconductor devices to switch or alter electric current.

The history of power electronics dates back to the early 1900s at the very least. At that time, inventor Peter Cooper Hewitt invented the glass-bulb, pool-cathode, mercury-arc rectifier, which could transform AC to DC current. Other historians date the birth of power electronics to the early electrical machines of the 1800s.
